Amrut Indian Single Malt originates from Bangalore, one of India’s most important metropolises, and has established itself as a fixture in the world of whisky since its introduction. In a region with a tropical climate, the whisky matures under extreme conditions: high temperatures and humidity significantly accelerate the maturation process. This allows Amrut to develop a complexity and depth in just a few years that would often take a Scotch whisky many times longer to achieve. Amrut uses only Indian barley from the foothills of the Himalayas, which is traditionally malted. This high-quality foundation is reflected in the whisky’s character: powerful, yet refined and remarkably nuanced. The single malt matures in a combination of new American oak casks and ex-bourbon barrels. Chill filtration is deliberately omitted, as is the addition of coloring – Amrut is committed to natural, unadulterated quality.
